WHAT PEOPLE SAY

Lindsay (58) Zoom

I have been doing Pilates with Rachel for many years now which is testament to her great teaching and classes.

I started attending in person  but have moved to Zoom classes which now suits me better . It gives me greater flexibility of when I can do a class , this allows me to  do 2/3 classes a week and has been a bonus when I have been away on holiday as I have access to pre recorded classes to do when suits me. This works perfectly with different Time Zones ( even New Zealand !)and means I don’t have to miss weeks of Pilates when away or if I’m busy for a usual class session.

I wouldn’t be without my regular ‘Quinn Pilates’ sessions and would thoroughly recommend Rachel’s zoom classes , what’s not to love ?

"I started doing Pilates with Rachel after my third child because I was having issues with my back. Now, I attend her class twice a week, and since I started, I've had no back issues. I absolutely love Rachel’s Zoom classes! They’re so convenient, and because of the way she teaches—frequently reminding us how we should be doing each move correctly—the class is not compromised by not being face to face."

As a keen (but with limited ability!) runner I had neglected strength, stretching, mobility and core for years and kept getting niggles and injuries. Starting pilates with Rachel about 8 years ago made me realise my body’s limitations and together we have tried to address these. Rachel has gently, and not-so-gently, pushed me into seemingly impossible positions and moves. Crucially, this is always done with encouragement and good humour. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Rachel to anyone, of any age or physical ability. It may not have made me a better runner (she’s no miracle worker!) but hopefully I’ll be able to continue being active and with fewer aches and pains. And there’ll be laughs en route!

“I have been attending Rachel’s classes for 10 years or more now.  After a friend recommended her, I tried a class at my local Church Hall and was hooked.  Over time, I increased my attendances to 3 per week, occasionally 4 if I could fit them in.  It is a great way to meet new people, have a laugh and work as hard you personally want to.

I remember the ‘light bulb moment’ for me was when I was able to do roll down into roll up properly and to enjoy the feeling - I knew Pilates was making me stronger.  Rachel always gives options - usually 3 levels of difficulty - to ensure that everyone can work to their ability and that’s a very inclusive way to operate.  It also gives you something to strive towards if you are on levels 1 or 2!

Of course, Lockdown, changed our world but Rachel was able to move us seamlessly between attending community centre classes to using our own living rooms.  Her continued classes certainly helped me retain my sanity during the strangest time of my life so far.  And I found that I was actually able to work harder in my own home - alone except for Rachel’s watchful eyes - and decided that I preferred the Zoom classes and have continued them.

I also really like the monthly plans that Rachel introduced. I have chosen to pay in advance for the unlimited classes and that spurs me on. She runs a very flexible and generous booking system that certainly suits me.

Indeed, I am away from home for 3 weeks at a time 2 or 3 times per year to visit my elderly Mom in the USA.  Thanks to Rachel’s pre taped videos, I am able to take a class in my Mom’s living room or on her back porch - thanks to the wonders of the internet.

I highly recommend you try a class with Rachel - you’ll love it.”

Eileen (67) In Venue & Zoom

"I love Pilates with Rachel. She is a professional and wonderful instructor, friendly, knowledgeable, and supportive. She has all the classes planned out. Whether the class is held in a local venue or on Zoom, they are all of high standard. Consideration is given to people's abilities and health issues, correcting posture where required but in a way that builds confidence. I have my own recent health issues - Parkinson's and arthritis. Thanks to Rachel's support, I'm benefiting from the classes with greater balance and mobility, which is noted at my check-ups. I love Pilates with Rachel!"

Brian (57)

Following several  medical procedures after a diagnosis of scoliosis I found myself struggling with back pain, stiffness and inhibited mobility. I knew I needed to sort these problems out. I was so pleased to find Quinn Pilates who offered 1:1 as finding time to commit to classes was difficult . I have now attended for a in excess of 5 years where Rachel has made me feel totally at ease, explaining every exercise & move expertly. I now feel that my core strength has improved along with balance, posture and general all round movement. I would thoroughly recommend Rachel’s approach either in class or 1:1 to improve your life.

NAME, TITLE

Mark

I’ve been part of Rachel’s Pilates group for longer than I care to admit and in all that time  I can truthfully say I’ve enjoyed every minute - well almost. The sessions are mostly serious exercise but fun is never far away. I recommend the classes to anyone

Ian (63) Zoom

I started attending Rachel's Pilates classes at the Church Hall several years ago. Since the pandemic, I have continued to participate in the classes via Zoom. My main reason for joining the classes was to strengthen my core, as I was experiencing back issues. Since starting the classes, I rarely have any problems with my back.

Rachel always keeps the classes interesting by introducing new exercises while retaining some of the old 'favorites.' Even though we are on Zoom, she can still notice if the exercises are not being done correctly. Rachel also provides multiple levels for the exercises to accommodate any issues you may have.

Her great personality and humor shine throughout the class, and I always leave feeling better than when it started. I find the classes beneficial for both the mind and body.

“I started doing Quinn Pilates when I first retired. Having worked in quite a stressful job with long hours, I had tried to keep fit - but the gym definitely wasn’t for me! I did some research and Rachel came highly recommended! I have been with Rachel for about 7 years and am so much fitter than I ever was! Rachel made me very welcome when I first started and the classes are fun, but challenging. Rachel gives options for each of the movements and reminds us at each different movement of how to hold ourselves and breathe correctly, etc. During COVID, Rachel set up Zoom and all of us in her class say how much she helped us through COVID. We could log in 10 minutes before the session began (and still do) and had a chance to chat with each other before the session began. Rachel continued with Zoom sessions after COVID (as well as face to face) and I use this twice a week as it suits my lifestyle. Rachel previously would send pre-recorded sessions if we were unable to attend. We are now able to access these on her website - which is great when things get busy. I am also able to access the sessions on Zoom - pre-recorded or live when visiting my daughter in Australia, a great plus! I cannot recommend Rachel highly enough - she caters for all abilities and needs. Thank you, Rachel!”
